Bus Veliko Tarnovo Istanbul, Bulgaria to Turkey

Going from Bulgaria to Turkey by bus is very easy.

In the end of my 2 weeks trip to Bulgaria, I decided to get the bus back to Istanbul.

Finally, I took the bus, since I’ve already made this journey several times from Bulgaria to Turkey by train, by car, but never by bus.

Although I went with the Turkish bus company Öz Batu turizm, the ticket must be purchased at the Sofia Bus office inside the bus station of Veliko Tarnovo city center.

This is the bus route that connects the border town of Russe (bordering Romania and Bulgaria) to Istanbul. The ticket price of this bus trip was 45 Levs (approximately 23 Euros).

The border crossing was normal: the bus stopped 4 times, 1st time for people to buy tax-free products and go to toilet. 2nd time for passports to the Bulgarian police; 3rd time for passports to Turkish police; 4th time for the Turkish custom house where everyone had to open their luggage for inspection on the street.
