Photos of Sofia capital of BulgariaSofia is a interesting capital. Not very big but with many monuments and sightseeing sites, quite nice to explore the city in one or two full days.

To get to know the city before you go is very important since you just walk there by knowing where things are located.

I was in Sofia several times, and I’m updating this page since I had old photos taken back in 2003.

Best monuments in Sofia are The Bells Monument, Soviet Army Monument, Saint Sofia Statue, Tsar Liberator Monument, Monument of Bulgarian volunteers, Tsar Liberator Monument, Patriarh Evtimii Statue, The Unknown Warrior Monument, Vasil Levski Monument, Alexander Battenberg Mausoleum, Stefan Stambolov Monument.

Buildings not to be missing include the famous Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Boyana Church, St. Nicholas the Miracle-Maker, Ivan Vazov National Theater, Sofia Opera and Ballet, Palace of Justice in Sofia, The Presidency building, The former Communist Party House, National Assembly of Bulgaria, Council of Ministers building.
