About my Travel in Bulgaria

Filed in Bulgaria by on October 5, 2012 0 Comments

Tsarevets Castle Veliko Tarnovo BulgariaBulgaria was among the first countries in Europe which I experience the reality of the country daily life within its inhabitants.

On the train from Varna to Sofia in the summer of 2001 I met a guy who invited me to go to his English teacher’s house in Plovdiv, whom he has not seen for a long time.

What happened was that the guy I met on the train ended up going away after 30 minutes and I ended up staying four days.

I made instant friendship with Emil, a friend of whom I still keep in contact and whom I have visited in Montreal in Canada since he emigrated there back in 2003.

Emil made me enter within his family, and insisted on showing me best destinations around Plovdiv by car. I just did not see Sophia this time, and ended up getting a ride from some friends of Emil who brought me there to take the train to Bucharest in Romania.

I went back to Bulgaria again in 2003, and again during summer 2008 driving through the country with the Caucasian Challenge Rally, a race with several teams driving 11 days from Budapest in Hungary to Yerevan in Armenia.

Travel in Bulgaria again in 2011

I spent 2 weeks in Bulgaria in April / May 2011. I travelled in Sofia, Rila Monastery, Veliko Tarnovo and much more destinations around the region of norther Bulgaria.

Still I came to Bulgaria several times, I have to say that I quite didn’t traveled there as much as I wanted, so, I expect exploring a little bit more Bulgaria in a near future.
