On this page I will give you a quick insight of different things and tours you can do during your holidays in New York. This page is ideal for those travelers who want to do different things such as activities, excursions and tours that they have never done before so they can take full advantage of their vacations.

One way to get to know New York is doing a few tours and excursions offered by various tour operators. I know many people that while traveling on a tight budget for accommodation and meals, they end up forgetting other important experiences that make a vacation much more interesting. Why not to explore New York with different activities? Some don’t even cost that much money. Check them out.

New York allows walking, bicycle, boat, helicopter. Just choose your favorite, or just choose one or two different tours and you will not regret.

This page is written without any commercial interest, and my website is not directly connected with any of the following companies that I list below. These are companies I know or used services during my stays in New York.

Liberty Island Ferry

Buy tickets at Castle Clinton National Monument in Lower Manhattan. The boats operates out of Manhattan, stopping first at Liberty Island where the Statue of Liberty is located, then passed through Ellis Island is on the Ellis Island Immigration Museum once again returning to Battery Park in Manhattan.

Admission is free for museums and the ferry ticket costs $ 12 dollars. I really enjoyed this trip, I had lots of people but it was all a super peaceful atmosphere and everyone was enjoying the trip dazzled away by the view over Manhattan. It’s all super photogenic. You can’t miss this trip.

Roosevelt Island Cable Car

This cable car was built in 1976 to transport residents of Roosevelt Island to Midtown Manhattan, this supposedly temporary solution was disassembled when the subway service passed the island.

The cable car has never been dismantled due to the success of using the lift, so one this is still one of the most interesting trips to do in New York.

The ticket price is the same as a NYC bus and can even be deducted on your Metrocard. I actually came here by chance while I did not even know there was a lift in New York, and was surprised when I saw and did not know where he was going. From the island you can enjoy a wonderful view of Manhattan and a very good view on the United Nations building in New York.

Double Decker Bus Tour

CitySights NY
This is possibly the best solution for a first introduction to New York. I took this bus with my father and stepmother on my first trip to the Big Apple.

Even for those who do not enjoy mass tourism, these trips make it possible to know and better understand the geography of the city. You can even pop in and out of the bus when you buy a ticket for 48 hours at a price of $ 54 dollars.

If you buy your ticket on the Internet you have a discount of $ 5 dollars. It is good to buy your tickets now online to get prices cheaper than in town, as there are always special prices online.
