CitySights NY

New York is huge. Thinking you can walk all is impossible and I would strongly recommend you use the city’s public transport as this is the best way to get around in New York. We have then the possibility of switching transportation and going by bus and metro.

There is a cheaper option for payment of these 2 transports in the city, called the MetroCard, which is a discount card that gives both metro and buses.

For example, a bus or subway ride costs $ 2.25, and a card for a day MetroCard costs only $ 7, that is, it pays a lot since you get unlimited rides and since the city is enormous.

As I am a very active person and when I travel I like to see many things, I always go from one side to the other in New York, so this is the cheapest option to be in town.

Subway in New York City

New York has the 5th largest subway system in the world, with over 300km of lines and more than 400 stations around the city.

This is the best solution to get around New York, for example imagine that you are in Downtown after visiting the Statue of Liberty, and want to visit the Metropolitan Museum in Uptown. It is about 10km away.

Buses in New York City

CitySights NY

Buses in New York are huge and are a quick and easy way to get around the city, especially outside rush hours, when I advise you to use the subway.

The price of the bus is $ 2.25 U.S. dollars, paying with MetroCard or exact amount of coins. Bank notes are not accepted.

Taxis in New York City

At least once you have to taxi ride as you’ll love the experience that only you see in movies, and you will for sure love being in a NYC “cab”. Take for example a trip to a museum to your hotel or back to your hotel in New York after a Broadway show in Times Square.

  • 7-Day Unlimited Ride MetroCard: Price is $ 27 dollars. Good for unlimited subway and buses until Midnight 7 days from the 1st trip. This is my favorite that I would strongly recommend to buy if you’re staying 5 days up to 1 week;
