The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States, completed in 1883. It is also one of the hallmarks of the city, along with the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State building.

This bridge with almost 2 km can be crossed on foot, and I deeply advise you walk crossing the bridge as the views over the East River are impressive.

World Trade Center Memorial

For those who want to remember the tragic terrorist attack of September 11 2001, you can go to Lower Manhattan in the area bounded by Vesey Street, the West Side Highway, Liberty Street and Church Street. Here you can see where were located the twin towers of World Trade Center.

This place called the Ground Zero, has now several walls with hundreds of pictures, flowers and messages to people missing in the attack. There is still a huge cross made of steel of the towers that makes the place a bit daunting.
